Our BRAND

AFRICA IN AMERICA’S ANNUAL ORIGINAL WORKS SHOWCASES
Every year, Africa in America strives to remain innovative and unique. From the first time we presented our original works showcases for African Diasporic Music and Dance in 2014, we knew that each year we could not repeat ourselves…and this year we are excited that we have extended it to a WHOLE WEEKEND CELEBRATION! This year, we will shine a light on the diaspora's soundtrack of our lives as we feature original works from musicians, vocalists, and drummers on October 5th at Barnsdall Gallery Theater. The 4th and 6th will be packed with workshops at various studios in the community as we continue to engage with our audience in order to cultivate growing artists within our own communities.
SPREAD THE WORD!!

MASTER AFRICAN DIASPORIC DANCE AND DRUM WORKSHOPS
If we use the phrase “Respect the Technique” as our tagline, getting better in our crafts represents the foundation of who we are. We here in America are blessed to having so many amazing drum and dance teachers and we love to host them in Los Angeles, so that the next generations continue to grow.

AFRICA IN AMERICA PRODUCTIONS

Our Founder Kara Mack is a budding Director, Producer, and Choreographer. She has worked with many African Diasporic artists and will continue to grow under her production company Africa in America Productions. Click on the link below to see who she has worked with so far.

ONLINE MAGAZINE/VLOG

When we launched in 2014, we started our bi-monthly online magazines, and so many people in the community supported. Due to us expanding in other areas, we have taken a break from that portion, but will continue with our very own AIA Magazine Podcast/Vlog. We will be interviewing Master Dancers, Drummers, and Influencers in the African Diasporic drum and dance community and posting in our YouTube page as episodes. Keep a look out Summer 2019!

AFRICA IN AMERICA ATH+LEISURE WEAR

Since this brand was started by a dancer, it has always been apart of Kara Mack’s plan to cater to the audience that continued to support her throughout her career. There are so many clothing lines that are dedicated to certain types of dancers, but there has never been that is dedicated to drummers and dancers who perform various African Diasporic styles of movement and music. Summer 2019, we are expanding out successful T-shirt line into a full blown athletic and leisure clothing line that everyone will enjoy.
